Donald Bergmann-Rogers
Donald A. Bergmann-Rogers, LAC, provides compassionate, affirming counseling for LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, families, and those in alternative relationship models. As a gay man himself, Donald understands the courage it can take to live authentically, especially when coming out or being fully seen may involve fear of rejection, judgment, bias, or loss of support from family, friends, coworkers, leadership, or community.
Donald creates a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can bring their whole selves without having to explain, defend, or minimize their experiences. His work is especially supportive for those navigating identity, family dynamics, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, addiction, self-worth, and the emotional “stuck points” that can keep people from moving forward.
With experience working with clients from early childhood through end of life, Donald brings both clinical skill and deep human understanding to the therapy room. He draws from motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and practical tools designed to help clients reconnect with their feelings, strengthen self-trust, improve emotional regulation, and build healthier patterns in their lives and relationships.
Donald believes the journey toward living as one’s authentic self is rooted in self-love — and that such a journey requires courage, trust, safety, and unconditional support. He helps clients accept their experiences with grace and dignity, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with motivation, meaning, and purpose.
Therapy with Donald is a place to be seen, respected, and supported. Wherever clients are in their journey, he is honored to walk alongside them with care, honesty, and genuine understanding.
