Jane Hanzlik
Jane is a Masters Level Licensed Associate Counselor with specialized training in trauma and abuse. She utilizes a creative method combining relational and narrative techniques specifically for individuals with childhood trauma or abuse. Her approach to therapy involves fostering a collaborative dynamic with the client built on trust to bring curiosity to areas of their life that are calling for attention. These often manifest as struggles with anxiety, codependency, depression, perfectionism, rage, self-esteem issues, and hopelessness.
Jane believes that the existence of deep pain resulting from trauma/abuse can become the source of transformative power in a clients life. Yet, the honest desire of a client to get to the root of their issues can be thwarted by their subconscious needs to avoid further pain and just stick with the status quo. Jane understands the courage it takes to embark on a therapeutic journey. She will carefully work with the client to begin to process their trauma and develop insight to its effects on their lives. Often, the defense mechanisms are stunting a clients ability to engage freely with life. Whatever the specific battle might be, a meaningful and joyous life is possible. Jane offers a safe space to help the client integrate their narrative and cultivate self-compassion so they can grow into who they are at their core. “Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure” – Rumi
